Millions of players worldwide have come to love the games with addictive, perfectly-perfect gameplay loops, compelling characters and charming characters.Īlthough some games have tried to capitalize on Stardew Valley’s success with titles similar to those that have gotten lost, nothing has yet come close yet, as it could still change with Roots of Pacha, which we got an extensive dive into during the tenth anniversary of the Devs Livestream. Not about what's gonna be teach in the elementary school curriculum.Since it was released, it was possible to argue that Stardew Valley became the most popular indie title of all time. Sometimes a potato is just a potato.įinally, the issue of same-sex couples in real life is largely irrelevant here. But being fanatical about it, moreso in a fictional work.Īnd there's the issue of seeing everything as propaganda or some sneaky plan to brainwash the world. I mean, nothing wrong with having a flat earth, look at Discworld. Or some flat-earther to asking to depict the Earth as flat in every sci-fi movie because it goes against their beliefs. Imagine some creationist asking for all games with dinosaurs to be banned, because they're offended by the idea of dinosaur existing. It's just that feels bad to remove things because they offend someone. In any case, I do not like this idea, regardless of whether it will be realized and in demand. I doubt that such liberties are positive for society. I am not against some abnormality in the life of adult mature personalities, but I am against the promotion of such things. Shakzor, the ability to create a same-sex couple is perceived as something natural and normal. But why should your opinion prevail? A typical conflict of interest. I couldn't care less if someone plays a male character and romances a male bachelor, it's their game and if they're happy, let them be happy. I played loads of Stardew Valley and never cared for the same sex options, since i simply don't swing that way and just play it how i wanna play it. The only "propaganda" i've seen are either in games which entire premise is "look, we so progressive!" or AAA games trying to please everyone and shoehorn these things into the main plot to look like they include everything (and tbh, it usually feels completely out of place) So unless the game is filled with gay couples, there's nothing to call "propaganda" Here's what propaganda means "information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote a political cause or point of view.". There are rarely any same-sex npc couples and even if there is, they're usually not "LOOK! WE ARE LESBIAN/GAY!!!!" in your face. Just don't marry someone of the same sex? It's not hard to avoid things like that in these farm sims. I am not a puritan, but it seems to me that many liberties have a negative impact on the younger generation. On the other hand, why should I encounter constant propaganda of same-sex relationships in the media, games, social networks, on the streets, etc.?Īnd - yes - I have bad English and ossified morality. On the one hand, this is your life and your choice. It’s really difficult for me to determine my attitude to same-sex couples. Death for me is as much a natural process as the relationship between a man and a woman. Originally posted by rincewind:Do you need an extra tinfoil hat? What for?
